A German certificate of conduct (also: police record) is issued by the German Federal Office of Justice. Information on how to apply from abroad can be found here.

Be aware that if you have to submit a police record in Lithuania, you might be asked for an apostille. This has to be applied for together with your police record (see application form).

If you intend to apply for a police record by mail, a certification of signature is requested. This can be done at the embassy. Book an appointment here and bring the following documents with you:

- Application form, filled out but not signed

- Valid ID (passport or ID card)

- Fee: approximately 56€, to be paid in cash or by debit/credit card (Visa, Master)
